Intervention/Prevention Clinical Group Counseling Program

Since 2000, CASPS has partnered with licensed therapists to provide early intervention through its Clinical Group Counseling Program for elementary school students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.

Students are referred by teachers and school staff, and with parent consent, attend weekly sessions during the school day. Led by licensed mental health professionals, these sessions use age-appropriate discussions, art activities, and interactive exercises to help students improve behavior, build social skills, and develop emotional awareness and self-discipline.

Partially funded through a Community Development Block Grant administered by the City of Glendale, the program has supported students across multiple Glendale schools for over two decades. With a consistent success rate of 80–88%, it plays a key role in preparing students for a smooth transition into middle school and the critical years that follow.

“Yes, I Can!” High School Tutoring Program

The “Yes, I Can!” program provides free, in-home academic support for high school students who need extra help staying on track toward graduation.

Designed for students who are falling behind in core subjects, the program places particular focus on areas such as math, where many students face challenges. Tutors meet with students one-on-one twice a week in their homes, offering consistent, personalized support that strengthens understanding, builds confidence, and reinforces classroom learning.

Students are referred through their schools, and families remain actively involved throughout the process. With ongoing tutoring, progress monitoring, and individualized support, the program helps students improve academic performance, pass required courses, and stay on a clear path to graduation.
